As an active participant in the artists' collective Factor 44, I would like to mention here on this page the birthdate of Factor 44, which was an amalgamation of two off-off galleries from the Antwerp 1980's scene; 'Quarantaine' and 'Inexistent', ran respectively by Harry Heirmans (HH) and Chris Straetling (HO). With their monthly organised 'Jours Fixes' (fixed dates), Factor 44 has been, over a period of ten years, a nesting place for artists, musicians and freewheelers of all categories... A report of these activities has been documented in the publication 'Chronologie Factor 44: les jours fixes 1996-2006'.
